Ordinary Sun was originally created as a site to showcase my work as an amateur photographer. The collection was unfocused and included landscapes, portraits, and macro photography, along with a small collection of "Lost in Nebraska" albums. It was about seeing "Ordinary things in extraordinary ways." Today, the site is still about finding the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary, but it's much more focused.
Much like the towns that are currently highlighted here, it was largely forgotten and went long periods of time with no updates.
"Lost in Nebraska" was a personal project I worked on for years. It started out as exploring ghost towns and attempting to document them before they were lost to time. As I continued to roam the countryside however, the project evolved into something slightly different. It was no longer just about the ghost town experience, but about out of the way places in general.
Thanks for visiting. I love you all.
